Pesto Sauce Recipe Ingredients

  • Chopped red bell pepper- 2 1⁄2 cups (about 3 whole peppers approx. 300 g)
  • Chopped onion- 1⁄2 cup (1 medium onion approx. about 80-100 g)
  • Overnight soaked cashews- 1 cup (or a minimum of 2 hours)
  • Overnight soaked walnuts- 1⁄4 cup (or a minimum of 2 hours)
  • Nutritional yeast- 2 tablespoons
  • Himalayan pink salt- 1⁄2 teaspoon
  • Paprika- 1 teaspoon
  • Grated garlic- 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil- 50 ml
  • Some cashews and walnuts to garnish

How to Make Pesto Sauce At Home: Step By Step Process

  1. Heat 30 ml olive oil in a cooking pan and add the bell pepper and onion to the sauté. Sauté́ on a high flame for 7 to 8 minutes till they are lightly golden in color. Now turn off the flame and keep the mixture aside to let it cool down.
  2. Keep the 20 ml olive oil for garnish, and add the remaining ingredients to the mixer. It would be best if you were very careful to put the cold ingredients first and then add the sautéed mix at the end. Please give it a good mix until it forms an evenly smooth consistency.
  3. Your pesto sauce is ready, and now you need to focus on serving. Lace the sauce with olive oil and garnish with whole nuts on top.
